Introduction

When the NWSF Drowning Strategy was launched in 2016, one of the key targets was:

"Every child should have the opportunity to learn to swim and receive water safety education at primary school and where required at Key Stage 3"

The forum has worked continually with partners to drive a change in safety education, while also promoting enjoyment in and around the water.

Water Safety Messaging Framework (England) 

To work towards this aim, The NWSF Education Group formed to build a Water Safety Messaging Framework (England).  Devolved nations have their own educational strategy for water safety.

The framework document and introductory PowerPoint, which you can access below will provide a set of consistent core messages for practitioner's and organisations working at all levels to plan, develop and deliver and evaluate water safety education campaigns, teaching and learning resources, and interventions.
