Water Safety Wales is a group of organisations working together on water safety and drowning prevention in Wales.
Wales’ seas and inland open waters – enjoyed by millions each year – are some of the best in the world, and Water Safety Wales wants to help people enjoy them safely and make sure they get back home to their loved ones after a day out, whether in, or or around the water.
Towards Zero Drownings: Wales’ Drowning Prevention Strategy
The Wales' Drowning Prevention Strategy sets out a shared approach to reducing drowning incidents and improving water safety across Wales.
Every year, lives are lost in incidents that have a devastating impact on families, friends and communities. Around one person loses their life to drowning each week in Wales.
Wales' Drowning Prevention Strategy provides a framework for collective action across Wales. Bringing together organisations, communities and individuals, it sets out an approach to reducing drowning incidents, improving water safety and working towards a future where everyone can be safe in, on and around water.
No single organisation can prevent drowning alone. The strategy brings together partners across Wales to drive collaboration, education, awareness and evidence-led action.
